Although Google's excellent Gmail service is already a dominant player in the free email game, it may prove even more popular when it can be applied to Apple's OS devices.
Most web users today know that Google's many different business models, products and services require constant updates to keep them "fresh" and working as intended. For webmasters, most of the concern is usually reserved for keeping up with how Google ranks millions of websites in order to determine the order that they'll be presented in on its search engine function. For other users, Google's constantly revised and represented approaches to allow its proprietary technology to work on competing platforms and devices like the iPad might be the biggest concern. However, one huge part of Google's undeniable dominance of all things web-related that nearly every user in the world can relate to is its comprehensive free Gmail email service.
Heading into the holidays, Google has decided to get one more big update into play before the start of the New Year, and the company has just announced the release of its next big update for the Gmail email service that is said to be specifically aimed at the Apple company's iPhone and the iPad devices. Regardless of what a web user's favorite brand of physical devices might be, whenever Google can successfully push its own services through another company's devices, its a big win for Google.
Google says its new Gmail update is targeted specifically at the iPhone and the iPad, and that this update will deliver a whole new user-friendly look and feel on those devices. The new update comes just 6 months after Google first decided to take on the iOS experience, and Google claims it took the entire 6 months to create it. This latest Gmail update will cover everything from infinite scrolling displays in the message lists to swivel features, smoother transitions and a whole lot of new animation capabilities as well. Additional proposed features also include auto-complete predictions in search listings, RSVP capabilities for Google Calendar invites on iOS devices, and enhanced sharing features with the ability to add +1's and comments to web posts directly from the Gmail app.
The update can also handle support for multiple accounts at the same time and also has the ability to switch back and forth between users with just few simple clicks. The iOS targeted Gmail update is already available from the iTunes app store, and more impatient users can get more details on the update from their App Store updates list. So far, Google's latest update looks like it will be a hit with the legion of app-loving Gmail fans. Even diehard iOS fans should stay tuned though, as Google will surely be making more Apple-targeted updates to the Gmail platform within the first half of the coming year.
